That is, while originality is a conventional estimation of value, the ways work like this contributes to a larger whole, and the ideas of many of us are aligned has another kind of value. We are abandoning an old worldview and building a new one.

And this trio is what I've been excited to read. Hope and Awe I'm mostly done with, and Joy I'm just starting. Dacher Keltner's Awe in particular has really changed my thinking, and allowed me to reorganize my understanding of my life, work, pleasures, and passions in new ways. As I like to say, we're in a literary golden age--and with these three, more than that. I can feel in the two new ones (Awe and Joy) the ways we are together reshaping how we understand the world and ourselves...
