I miss the fandom. I pulled out of a convention in January in Seattle because I was worried about the election results and the potential for anti trans rhetoric to rise. I’ve experienced it before in Seattle. When I explained this to a cis het fur who was going to the con she got all angry and said “can we keep politics out of this?!”
I left the DnD group we were in, and pulled out of the con because all I want is to feel safe.
I suspect I’m the asshole for not going, but damn I miss the fandom.

I went to the local RennFaire last weekend (#CanterburyRennaisanceFaire) and I had fun. Much fun.
* alas, I had to leave my substantialness behind because outside and heat. But fun was had! I even had a Sausage Roll (which I was easily able to eat!)
