Which LG model specifically? Because I'm a fan of LG OLEDs and I've never heard of this. It's definitely *not* a thing in their C and G line of TVs.

Chevy Bolt Cheap, reliable, not the ugliest EV in the world. They're under appreciated right now so a fully loaded model with low miles goes for about $10K.

Dude you're the one gaslighting. I was raised by people like you; I'm not falling for it. Provide me just *one* example of such a TV, and I'll shut up. But I already know you can't.

There is no such thing as a TV that blocks you from using it without an internet connection. I promise you there is an option to continue without connecting, unless you specifically purchased an ad-supported display that requires you to go online so it can serve you ads (and so far every TV that tried to pull that crap has failed to sell). You're making up problems in your head again. Stop doing that.

Not on my experience. I simply set my LG OLED to HDMI 1 and leave it there. I don't own a Blu Ray player nor any game consoles, so one input for my PC is all I need. TV boots up like a monitor and immediately displays the desktop. I never see the smart crap ever. If you have to for your particular model, you can always get a service remote and put the TV into Hotel Mode, then from that menu, disable the smart features completely, and program the TV to default to your input of choice every time you boot it up. Every TV in existence has Hotel Mode, and thus is capable of doing this.

I don't even understand why a pedophile is allowed to run reddit... (And another one runs the country.) How did everything get so fucked up? Nobody has morals anymore, nobody gets upset anymore! We just accept our reality and then carry on. Where is the testosterone-fueled anger?

Can someone please recommend a vacuum sealer under $50 that isn’t terrible? The one I have doesn’t remove all the air before sealing. I want one with two separate buttons: one to activate the vacuum, and a second one to seal. That way I can determine on my own when all the air is removed, rather than rely on a faulty detection circuit.

This is why I have a harness and one of those extending leashes. I pretty much let him go where he wants on hour-long walks; the leash is just to keep him from genociding the local fauna or running into traffic. It also reduces his urge to sprint outside the moment a door opens.

Discontinuing outdated tech has nothing to do with AI. SATA SSDs need to be retired. NVME is superior and widely available.

Calm down, everyone. Who cares about SATA SSDs? SATA is nearly a decade out of date! Even budget motherboards support NVME these days. It’s time to move on and quit fear-mongering. This is a non-story.

Unfold the phone, then go into Developer Options and increase the Minimum Width setting until you have the screen real estate you wanted. That’ll solve the issue of things not properly being zoomed out when you unfold it. Next, fold the phone and increase the setting again until you’re happy with how that one looks too.

Get a Fold 7. It’s the same size as your average flagship when folded. But be warned: Once you get used to having a tablet in your pocket, there’s no going back. It’s especially great for restaurant menus, mobile games, and YouTube.

Which foldable do you own? There is no visible crease on my Fold 7 during normal use. The only way I can see it is by placing the phone directly under a light and angling it in an unnatural direction. That said, my old Fold 4 had an obvious crease. But it’s no longer an issue with modern foldables.

Fold 7 owner here and I can confirm that the crease is invisible during normal use. You have to purposely angle your phone in unnatural directions under a light to see it. My last phone was a Fold 4 and it was definitely visible then. Not anymore.

Good to know. Almost bought a Fold 6 but decided to fork over the dough for a Fold 7 instead (mainly cause I love how it’s as thin and light as any other phone when folded). Thanks for making me feel a lot better about dropping $2K on this fucking thing. Best phone I’ve ever owned but I paid out the ass for the privilege.

That’s a brilliant idea, but why does your PC have coiling issues? I literally never worry about overheating because I sized my radiators and heatsinks adequately for my equipment, fans set in a positive pressure configuration to minimize dust accumulation. All I gotta do is clean the filters once every few months, and everything stays cool in clean. If your overheating issues are a result of budgeting issues, I feel for you. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a bad idea to invest in better cooling so that you never have to worry about temps.

I used to hate on RGB in PCs, until I realized that they can do more than just rainbow vomit; with enough LEDs you can actually get a visible image… If you squint… One of my favorite things to do with RGB is use the RAM sticks as VU meters and the CPU radiator fans as visualizers when playing music; gives off oldschool HiFi vibes and reminds me of my Winamp days.

Yeah seriously it’s so pathetic. Either embrace tech, or get left behind. The vast majority of Lemmy users might not like it but personally I refuse to get left behind. LLMs can be a great tool if you’re aware of their limitations. Stick to the more advanced models (avoid the “fast” ones that don’t actually do any googling), check the sources it provides, be skeptical of everything it says, and you’ll be fine. An LLM helped me with a relationship issue I was having, and even diagnosed an issue I didn’t even know my car had when I asked it an unrelated question about fuel trims, saving me hundreds by recognizing a problem I was unaware of before it killed my catalytic converter. Given that I would probably be single by now, and would have never discovered the issue without an LLM going, “hey by the way…”, I am extremely grateful to OpenAI for what they’ve done for me and the future of humanity. Why would I hate on a technology that saved me nearly $1000? What’s most exciting to me is that the tech is still in its infancy, and it’s already this good. The AI bubble will eventually burst, and the tech will eventually get good enough to shut up all the naysayers. AI just needs to get past its “growing pains” stage. Stay strong; ignore the haters, and we’ll weather this storm. Eventually Lemmy will find something new to hate.
