The 25th of May was the day that they remembered those who fought and fell for hardboiled eggs, truth, justice and reasonably priced love, who died - and in Reg Shoe's case rose and kept fighting - in the Glorious Revolution of Treacle Mine Road

@georgepenney@sunny.garden Him and Gerald Durrell, Jacques Cousteau, Jack Hargreaves, and my family. Although to my shame now I used to moan and turn off the end of DA's nature programs when he (to my immature and stupid ears) went on about how much better we should be looking after the environment. There are many ways I used to think and behave that I am so ashamed of now. But that is up there amongst the top 5. DA is a legend.

@georgepenney Having looked at images of both, discretion definitely better than valour. Yeeting, I got from context. (But more violent than I thought) Conniption I guessed from context but I confess I had to look it up. But being bested in vocabulary by an author is no shame. I love learning new words. When visiting NZ due to temperate climate, I didn't think to worry about spiders. Australia though, paranoid is too strong, let's say extremely cautious, wary... hostel dunnies...

@adapalmer@wandering.shop 2011 Dottir No2 started at #Cardiff Uni. We had to get a bus in as no parking on site that day. The city was choked with diesel fumes from all the various bus companies. (Which otherwise offered a good service) Inside the bus itself it was dreadful. Dottir No4 went to Aberystwyth uni 2018 so not been to Cardiff recently. I really hope it goes like Copenhagen

Either we're all failures in that regard or all realise it's not that important.. For me parenthood, & now grandparenthood is the most important, satisfying, challenging, difficult thing I'll ever do. I'm 1st & foremost a Vati. Nothing else comes remotely close. We're talking parsecs here. Advocacy engineering learning languages are all part of my life, but my kids are everything.

@mads@fedi.mvpgame.dev oh my god ... thank you. It works. I lost a chunk of hearing in one ear suddenly in the shower one morning in July last year. It was replaced by tinnitus. Which for someone who is noise averse and loved absolute silence (think lockdown middle of rural Wales with no sheep)… the constant din is the pits.
