I would like to add a very simple reason that, is kinda brought up by eveyone here, but just from a personal pov. Men are raised in a way where they are taught to not believe women. It’s even sadder because I will say this, and men will read this, and they will say “thats not me, I believe women.” and then will continue going on not realizing they do not believe women. Its a very subtle thing, its not like their parents say “women can’t be trusted.” Its culture and habit and small differences in the way boys and girls are treated growing up, and who knows what else.

The one that I always remember being really bad is one of the comic ones. I feel like it is like twice a day that a “haha women bad!” comic gets posted.

Probably, yeah. Lemmy feels like a “boys club” in the way men act here, its really gross. Honestly the first time I recognized your username was seeing you call it out in a random thread somewhere. Actually I think it was about violet too? I can’t remember.

Misogyny on Lemmy is crazy. I honestly think its worse than reddit, I genuinely see it daily. Random meme communities will frequently have gross memes that if you think about for 1.8 seconds they are super misogynistic. Honestly it’s depressing.

I adore the hell out of her, absolute sweetest person I know. I really hope she doesn’t get sick but if she does I got her at least ten times over for how sweet she is. Thank you! I’ll definitely be going to bed soon. hopefully then I wake up tomorrow great.

Oh definitely! Its so important to be kind to yourself, there is a part of me that’s still trying to learn that its OK to take that time for yourself. When it comes to food I like to think if it “sounds good” to me, its probably because my body is craving minerals and vitamins in that food, so I dont hold back on anything. Long showers are the best feeling when sick, the steam and warm water is perfect.

No I get it, even if my physical self feels like shit, its kinda nice for the mental and emotional self! Laying in bed all day is like meditation, and seeing how much my partner cares is so heartwarming I have cried more than once today.

I’m cooped up at home right now cause I’ve got a virus of some kind, and it made me think what do you like to do when you’re home sick? My partner is lovingly bringing me anything I ask for (lots of hot tea, inexplicably large quantities of hash browns) and I’m laying in bed watching TV and it’s been quite nice considering I am feeling like shit. It makes me think about how growing up my dad never took care of my mom the way she took care of him, and the way my partner is taking care of me. I know there are endless stories similar to my mom, but I’m kinda rambling here now. Hopefully you stay in good health, but if you did get sick, what is your ideal sick day?

I am incredibly competitive, and funny enough I get it from my mom. I remember really having to learn how to control myself growing up, crying at mini golf because I’m 8 and sucked lol. The rest of our family has banned us from competing against each other after she spiked the Wii remote into the ground from playing Mario Kart against me. We try and do more cooperative activities now a days lol.

I mean if we’re going ALL of the Americas it’s probably Sao Paulo, NYC, Mexico City, and imo 4th is a toss up between LA and Rio De Janeiro.

I started working out recently. I’ve always been a healthy person, my job is pretty physically demanding and I eat healthy, but I’ve always wanted to go a little bit further and look fit or even fully muscular. (thanks tiktok muscle ladies for the inspiration) The appearance changes are small so far but I’m surprised just how much better I feel moving around my day to day life. Its very strange in a good way to experience feeling more “in control” of my own body.

Yeah for all the shit steam gets, I bought that now de-listed Deadpool game like, however many years ago when it first came out (it was okay thanks for asking) and recently started a family sharing thing with my partner on steam, who was surprised to see that not only did I own it, but she could play it through steam’s family share. Are they perfect? Hell no, but is Gabe right about this? Hell yes.

considering Orr is destroyed and the gods show multiple who are dead, its definitely a prequel. This may put us timeline wise into The Guild Wars the games are named after. I will miss sylvari though, not many fantasy races I love as much as I do sylvari. Maybe some timeline nonsense in gw2 will give me sylvari.
