Today, LaTosha Brown asked us to get the word out about the important convening in Montgomery, Al on May 16th. Yes, this is in response to the gutting of the VRA, but it’s also the start of Freedom Summer, which began in 1964.

As a sports girlie, a sports girlie reared in southern sports, I agree with Ryan Clark 100%. The plantation-style system needs a massive shock. It needs to change.
True story, as an undergrad at UCLA, the Black players called the football field the plantation and the dorm they lived in the projects & that was sunny, lefty LA.
The entire system is broken.
