@nicklockwood@mastodon.social Sure, there were certainly other factors. My theory here is that sticking to a safe premise is the easiest and cheapest thing for studios to control.

@nicklockwood@mastodon.social GoT did not have a safe ending that made everyone happy and I do think that was a significant part of the negative reception.

I'd say the finale was pretty satisfying, just like the rest of season 5, but also played it very safe. I feel like GoT season 8 has made it so we won't see particularly interesting conclusions of any big budget series for a long time.

@drahardja@sfba.social that would be great, I think the madness usually starts as soon as it is dark in the city and so far I haven’t heard anything

@hagen@mastodon.social Does it though? Streaming needs proximity so the cloud services mostly work because not all subscribers use them every day but you need significant scale to make that work without people feeling bad because all GPUs are in use.

@ole@chaos.social @dimsumthinking@mastodon.social Wasn’t the “right to forget” a big thing in the EU a few years ago? Doesn’t it apply here because the statements aren’t true in the first place or something?

I feel like people pointing out bad results from any “AI” system are missing the point.
You have to think of them as similar to spam, if you can recognize that it is garbage, you’re just not the target demographic.
The hope is that the remaining audience is still large enough to run a profitable scam, simple as that.

@lrz@mastodon.cloud maybe it could be just as fun doing it in a red team sort of way?

@343max@chaos.social Ich finde mastodon.social am sinnvollsten. Wenn das mal nicht gut ist, braucht man wahrscheinlich auch kein Mastodon mehr.
