You Augment your Intelligence with it, not outsource it all and expect magic.
Watch your technology seduction or your intelligence will be in reduction.
As always, be more discerning.
You have to be careful in how to trust estate agents, recruitment agents, special agents and now AI agents.
Are they there to give you agency, support your existing agency or take it away from you.
The danger is when you believe you have agency but don’t.
Just read that Peter Neumann has passed.
He was one of the first people I read about back in the day.
Here’s his page on the SRI site, it’s worth a peruse. Basically he was a don:

For those of a certain vintage, this is an interesting 4 part podcast about Sir Clive Sinclair…
One of the reasons the basics keep getting left behind is because those in power might think security is important but they don’t value it, no matter what they say.
When you *Value* something you do what needs to be done to protect it.
Value remains on revenue+profit until you get pwnd.
Prediction: Folks start using AI to help with their work, which they’ll be incentivised for.
Which in turn leads to fewer colleague / peer interactions for support and guidance. Which in turn will lead to more silos.
Soon your appraisal and 360s will be with an AI agent.
Context - Advice for junior folks in cyber security
How you do what you do is equal to, if not more important than what you do e.g:
* How you build relationships.
* How you communicate.
* How you handle yourself in rooms where things get tense.
Personal rule:
Enter with empathy.
Do what needs to be done, as well as it can be done with the resources at hand and do it with a smile.
Exit with grace.
The how you do it, makes you memorable and trusted.
I feel like there’s a comparison around older cars vs modern cars (over engineered, not built to last) and the current influx of companies shoehorning AI into everything vs beavering away, working with people, boring but brilliant companies.
The boring will always triumph in the end.
