Jeg tror vi er mange der indimellem tyer til et engelsk låneord eller to, men det er tit bedst at lade være. Personligt irriterer det mig når butikker sætter skilte med 'SALE' i vinduet i stedet for 'UDSALG', og jeg læste lige følgende på nettet '...en teknisk fejl på det datacenter, som hoster information.dk' og afkodede det i første omgang som ordet hoste (kroppens refleks til at rense luftvejene, iflg. ordbogen). Jeg kommer også selv til at bruge de engelske tekniske udtryk med danske endelser. Vi mangler nogle gode danske alternativer (ikke at vi behøver norske tilstande - hvor det vist kaldes et webhotel).

@BillySmith@social.coop If you do that kind of thing you have to be ready for bad press... In Copenhagen Zoo the giraffes have more foals than they have room for or can find homes for in other zoos, so some have to be put down. When the zoo wanted to get a little realism into what the lions was feed and used the giraffe in smaller chunks for this there was a lot of anger (also in the press). Even when the lions always get pieces of bigger animals. It is as 'we' have two types of mammals: Faceless food products we give horrible living conditions and cuddly ones: Petting zoo pigs and goats and pets like cats and dogs, that almost are honorary humans...

@BillySmith@social.coop In Denmark they try to hide the reality of where the food comes from, but it is not the cows that have the worst deal there - pigs/chickens take that I think (lots of arguments for going vegetarian) We don't have City Farms with cows as far as I know. I would guess there is at least 10 km to the nearest cow from where I am in Cph...
