I get the feeling this is going to be pretty much impossible to fill but if there is any place that would be interested in hiring me for upstream kernel work and still be able to write the upstream display driver for nova, I would be really interested in hearing.
I'm more then happy to work on other areas of the kernel, and am flexible and have worked in plenty of other areas of linux desktops - mesa, wayland, weston, libinput, the X11 server, you name it! But being able to finish the work that i've started for nova would also be something I would be incredibly, incredibly greatful for.

I have to be real too - there was a short while where I was 'ok' with this "maybe we use the AI for documentation", but you know what? Screw it.
Of course users are angry at you and your project when they see an agents.md. It's insulting. It is telling your users you don't give a shit about them and you don't give a shit about your own work. People aren't going to bother to figure out if you are "only using it for documentation" because to be completely god damn honest, why should they care? We're looking at a software industry that is dead set on taking people's jobs, destroying creativity, and commoditization of basic fucking knowledge. This industry is constantly making shit worse for people, and we are constantly harassing people through the devices they use on a daily basis in a desperate attempt to make a quick buck.
The moment you touch AI, you are saying you're completely fine with throwing your reputation in the trash and that's completely fair.
again - if you hate your job so much, could you just go into a different career instead of trying to push genAI on people
I'll be honest I've definitely been really struggling this last week trying to figure out how to keep moving forward while trying to figure out how to tune out deskillers and it's getting hard man. I've never felt anxiety and this strong of a sense of dread for the industry I work in before. Genuinely feels like something I worked for years to be a part of and to be proud of got shitty the moment I finally started getting past my burnout.
