I speak through cardboard these days, which I find funny because I’d call myself a writer in casual conversation before I’d call myself an artist. I made some new signs today. My shoulders get cranky if I churn out too many too fast, so I’m trying to respect my limits. Whee. I made 4 today, including one for my friend, JustKim, who specifically asked for one on national parks. Speak even if your shoulders hurt.

So, turns out a punk rock flea market is an event I would happily endorse and attend again. People were really nice, and i got to meet a few other artists and makers who were super chill. I'd share my wares at such places - but I need to tweak some stuff slightly - less specific to parties and more generally towards the system. It was anthropologically a facinating place. I never knew the culture even really existed - which is sad for me, in a way. Teen age me could have really used it.

@thistleandmoss.com LGBTQIA+ people are just people, and most Americans know that, and they also know that this is scapegoat targeting. As Adam Swere said, the cruelty is the point. Most Americans don't want warning labels on their TV or *gasp* on explicit lyrics (except Tipper Gore and why did we listen to her again?). These people are pissy that their culture isnt the mainstream anymore. Because the REST of America doesn't wanna watch that crap. Because it is CRAP.

@yourweirdofriend@thistlenfern.org i actually learned a ton from a few reels folks back in the day. Additionally, i have countless books because I worry someday Im gonna need to rely on the plants because of production shortages in modern meds. I've found that the nature witch community/foraging is where the a lot people who really know their stuff are. Foragers are bad ass. I'm getting more confident about berries and wild herbs, but still way too frightened of mushrooms. Have you ever tried Dandilion honey?

Substack keeps going more and more fashy, so I'm hedging my bets and joining something open source (like one of my partners suggested about 10 years ago... because he is a smart lil linux nerd). I'm trying to learn the interface and such - each platform has a learning curve, so bear with me while I figure out how it all works.
