Hello #fredericton #yfc, I’m a transplanted Albertan that just moved here and is building a #passivehouse. I’ll post pictures and the project progresses. There’s not much to see so far.

Good morning #yegbike people. I’m moving across Canada and have a Thule hitch bike rack that I don’t want to move. It comes with a never used frame adapter for step-through bikes. Open to offers on the two together. Reach out to me here or via Ken(dot)Hemmerling(at)outlook(dot)com.

Thanks to everyone that liked and boosted my post about finding a new home for Biscuit the bunny. I’m happy to report she’s going to a family that lives on an acreage and has horses.

Hey neighbours, My family will be moving later this year and we won’t be able to take our bunny “Biscuit” with us. She’s about two and a half years old, has been to a vet and has been vaccinated. She’s litter box trained, comes with a litter box, “Paw Hut” bunny house, and a reconfigurable cage. She doesn’t leave carpeted flooring so the only time we use the cage is when we put her in the yard.

We’ve talked to the SPCA (who won’t take her), Zoe’s Animal Rescue (only deals with cats and dogs), and Infinite Woofs (currently on a waiting list for their site). If anyone is interested, we’d love to see her go to a good home.
#yeg

RE: @pinhman@mstdn.ca

Imagine someone inadvertently buys a stolen car. When the police track down the vehicle, it is seized as evidence and ultimately returned to its proper owner. What happens to the buyer who is out thousands of dollars? They have to use the courts to go after the seller.

Now imagine that scenario but with land.

I have two takeaways: 1) UPS is very bad at delivering items and 2) UPS support takes a week to reply to a claim ticket even when the response is to contact the shipper. Personally, I suspect there is a 7 day window after which UPS is not liable for lost items… but maybe I’m just being paranoid. Should you want to buy something from Apple, I suggest picking it up in the nearest store.

Hey #Yeg friends, I want to share a quick story about UPS.

I recently ordered a new MacBook from Apple.ca and selected home delivery. On the delivery date, I received a text from UPS that the laptop had been delivered even though it hadn’t. I called UPS who told me “Catherine” had signed for the new computer and I explained nobody by that name lives at our address. The support person at UPS walked me through opening a support claim on their website.

After getting off the call with UPS, I called Apple and explained the situation and they immediately opened an investigation. Three business days later, Apple sent an email that a replacement laptop was being shipped. Five days after that, UPS finally responded to my claim with an email telling me to contact Apple.

When UPS delivered the replacement laptop, they left it on my front step, rang the doorbell, and left without getting a signature.

@KiwiEV@mastodon.nz I have a 19’ camping trailer that has a max weight of 4500lbs that I pull with a 13 year old SUV with a 3L diesel engine. Recently I’ve been thinking of upgrading my tow vehicle to a 2024 Toyota Tacoma which has a max tow capacity of 6500lbs. Multiple people on the Facebook group for my trailer have told me I NEED a full sized half ton truck (tow capacity of 13,000lbs) and some suggested a 3/4 ton truck (tow capacity of 16,000lbs) would be even better because of “safety”. It’s madness.
