Even people in Phoenix need reminders. Our office manager started stocking the fridge with otter pops because the guys working outside were not doing enough to stay cool, but it's hard to turn down an excuse to stop for 5 minutes and enjoy frozen juice in a tube while standing by a fan.

I did leave the tab many times, but it thought I left 0 times because I use multiple browser windows that aren't full screen. Other than that, informative; albeit not the most eye-friendly experience.

Check the port, maybe it's not an optic module and it needs an ethernet cable. Or worse, maybe it's one of those weird FC types..
I wish I still had it, the boot time was amazing, and the ROM had DOS and Deskmate onboard.

Our first hard drive was in our first Windows PC. 400ish MB.
The machine prior to that was a Tandy 1000SL. No real "hard drive", but there was a "C" drive which was a ROM with DOS on it. Other than that, just a 5.25 floppy.
Prior to the Tandy we had an Atari 400. No disks at all, just a tape.

I have had to make this point to people so many time this week.
Yeah, ok, they found an openBSD exploit. If we spent the money mythos burned to find that exploit on the openbsd project, they'd have found it too. And likely a lot more.
The sheer amount of money and compute we're burning to do... something undefined... is boggling.
If GenAI was as game-changing as it is presented to be, someone would have made a lot of money off the things it can make, yet all the money seems to be in selling access to GenAI, not in anything it produces. Where's the solo-dev using these amazing tools to build completely new products that solve major problems? Or where's the business using Gen AI to really make something fantastic instead of make roughly the same thing they were before but with fewer people?

I can't say you're wrong about that. I sort of went overboard on the slabtops and their kin because they're endlessly fascinating to me.
Actually, you have a point: maybe I should document my little collection. Put it on my website so I can prove these specific artifacts existed.

I'm certain my tiny retro computer collection is from well documented devices (TI99-4/a, Tandy M100, T102, T200, and a NEC 8201; and my most recent pride a CC-40); the rest is all emulated (PiDP projects).
However, if I ever run across anything odd I will certainly make sure to document it as best I can.

Is Pulsar Editor a non-starter for you? It's basically a fork of Atom.
Last I used it it still supported the atom plugins, and I know for certain it works on Linux and Windows even with fairly modest resources. I can't speak to mac is from personal experience.

Dang, I am failing hard at... most of this. I actually tried to follow item 10 a few years back, but can't get hired elsewhere without a pay cut, which sucks as I don't actually make all that much.
Item 5 I've never been good at, but previously places at least paid out unused PTO... In my current situation I've probably lost 30 weeks of PTO over the years.
7 is one I do consistently, and I try to keep up with 2.

This sounds like a really interesting bit of information, the "why" behind passkeys is definitely a topic I want to understand. Do you have a transcript or a blog post about the topic? I would rather read an ruminate than listen to a keynote, sorry.
