@wendythedruid@thistlenfern.org I respect your technical chops! I was a Social Anthropologist (aka Social Scientist) in training, until I got sidelined by C-PTSD. I had so much hope for the emergent internet as a space for people’s political/gender/race/class/sexuality/ability/spiritual freedom. However disappointed I am, I am not surprised that the oligarchs, tech bros, and white supremacist nationalists have taken it over the way they have. Hegemony does what it does. AI horrifies me. How do we resist it…

I may not be an official or technical “friend”, but I share the values of YWF, and appreciate their writing, and I am looking to connect with more people I can learn from and feel expanded and deepened by. I remember when the internet was just starting out in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. In those days marginalized groups had private chat and email messaging spaces set up by and controlled by owners and moderators.

@wendythedruid@thistlenfern.org I don’t know if YWF would actually consider me a friend or not, but I follow them on Substack, and like their posts and I followed them over here.
