*Texas fought this war because they wanted to keep slavery after Mexico outlawed it. Texas belonged to Mexico at the time. It wasn't about "freedom", it was about the white people keeping the "right" to own other people as property. Texas has been shit this entire time. FYI.

@sarahtaber And shoot, being a legume, peanuts fix nitrogen in the soil rather than decimating it, which reduces the amount of chemical fertilizer needed. Especially important in a delta region.
