I just read a really messed up thread over on Bluesky by Shane M. Bailey about how Target uses AI to flag thefts at their self checkouts, and it works as well as you'd imagine. His wife was arrested bc of it and I recommend reading the thread if you can. His acc is set to users only and with that in mind, I don't feel comfortable just sharing screenshots.
tl;dr shopping at Target can get you falsely accused of theft and thrown in jail

It's still a pretty high-tech solution I suppose, but I'm at least in control of it

@statsguy Same, my phone is likely gonna need to be replaced soon and I dread the upcoming search for a phone that doesn't have it hardbuilt in. I'm just hoping the bubble pops soon and I can avoid this generation of phones entirely
