The advancements in hardware have been dramatic since I entered my programs composed in FORTRAN, put them on punch cards, and ran them on a Cray 1 in NSA’s basement in 1976. Now I carry a powerful computer in my pocket, and it’s even got a camera! When the Internet came along I remember the optimism that this would be an opportunity for everyone to connect to anyone around the world. Sadly we failed to anticipate the effects of capitalism on this new medium. In many ways I consider the Internet another failed social experiment. So while we have ever more capable hardware with which to access the Internet, the Internet has become a less than ideal destination.
The advancements in hardware have perhaps been most beneficial in allowing us to record family memories. We can also take photos and process them without the need for a fully equipped darkroom.
I’ve pretty much given up hope that the Internet will ever fulfill the hopes we had for it in the beginning. Meanwhile, thanks to the advancements in hardware, computing could become much more personal, isolating us from each other instead of what we once anticipated.

I resurrected my old ASUS K501J laptop, which for some reason I updated to Windows 10 last year. Bad move. It only has 4MB of RAM. Megabytes. I should either wipe the drive and install Windows 7 (I have an upgrade disc, will that work?) or try to find a Linux distro that can run on air.

I don’t understand why so many people hate images created with Ai yet websites created with a template on Word Press and filled with drag-and-drop content are okay.
I would expect purists to demand all websites be hand-coded and hosted on the owners own domain.

I don't know why the living former presidents have chosen to ignore their oath to protect America from foreign and domestic enemies. That oath didn't dissolve once they were out of office. Yet not one of them has stood up against Trump and led us in opposition. It's shameful they have not.

Does anyone know how many data centers are enough? Does every entity in government and the private sector get their own? If they share data, aren’t some redundant? And why are we the only country being overrun with these parasites?

Every time I see pups taken from their mother for adoption or juvenile apes removed from their family group to be relocated, I can’t help but wonder how we’d feel if a “superior” race did that to us. I know it’s often done for good reasons, but we know that, they don’t.

No good whatsoever will come from the proliferation of data centers. There are no positive or beneficial long term gains to be had. They will serve only the oligarch’s, the wealthy and powerful.
Data is valuable. We won’t see much of that value.

The whole story is ludicrous. And I don’t see how they can charge him with attempted assassination when he was nowhere near the president.

Foreign policy by emotions. And they said women were too emotional to lead.

That's kind of true. ICE has been recording their crimes and photographing protesters, and they certainly are terrorists.
