Tested both computers using Handbrake. MBP was about 4 times faster. MBA started throttling towards the end, MBP was steady all the way through. MBP using the Low Power setting was about 60% faster than the MBA.
This should be enough computer for me for years to come. The MBA lasted me 5.5 years, limiting factor turned out to be the size of the SSD. Going from 256GB to 2Tb is… liberating.
