@JVWest@chirp.enworld.org Overall games are very much like cookbooks. While people can argue wether a cookbook is “good” or “bad” really unless it causes food poisoning it’s really a matter of taste.
Some people prefer complex 17th century imperial Chinese recipes that take hours etc others prefer a velveeta wonder bread sandwich.
The point is if it fulfills a need good/bad are pointless adjectives

@underthestars@hachyderm.io @drewharwell@mastodon.social You are on point. What we are seeing, is behavior that will facilitate rather than stop the rise of authoritarianism.

@drewharwell@mastodon.social It’s how businesses work in America, we are awash in monopolies. The idea of making a better product, or providing a better service is dead. What American business does is capture market share then attack & destroy competitors ability to access the market.
That is our “free market” in America, only free for those wealthy enough to own the market.

@tante@tldr.nettime.org I’m not sure which or how many jobs can be replaced by AI. What I am fairly certain of is the AI thingies we are seeing right now are pretty much like the first attempts at cars which were also laughed at.
We don’t see to many horse drawn carriages anymore, and the need for stables has gone way down since then.
