I’m completely on your side. Psychologically speaking, the mood in most Western countries – and not just there – is such that a general suspicion of anything Russian is deeply ingrained, partly due to the fact that, as you well know, there has never been a truly established democracy there. As a German, I still remember very well how my uncle told us how the Russians in the GDR (our communist ‘brother’) threatened him with death if he didn’t spy for them...
