Sometimes what you don't say is more important than what you do say. Many on the left were manipulated and used to boost the fascist. Something many to this day are still too sensitive about to acknowledge. There wasn't Mass coverage and protest that all major party candidates supported the genocide. Only Harris. In all the Zionist and oligarch media, every day it was wall to wall coverage of the people calling Harris out over it. It was legitimately used to launder Donald Trump's image. The fact that the vitriol and hatred that anyone who pointed this out got back then. And still gets today, proves that many failed to learn the important lesson. While they were absolutely correct to criticize Harris for her support. They were wrong to only focus on her over it. Even if symptoms like trump and everyone in his administration met the gallows tomorrow. These same people will continue to naively allow themselves to be weaponized against the achievable over the perfect. Ultimately getting more symptoms elected in the future, and allowing the Overton window to ratchet further and further to the right. National Democrats are horrible allies, they're unfortunately the best we have.

Evil people already don’t respect licenses. Tacking on the term no evil people isn’t going to fix that. It’s already hard enough for most GPL Etc coders to enforce their licenses. Giving of their very limited resources to create the code in the first place, and receiving no resources back from the code in general. The legal process is expensive painful and time-consuming by design. All this will do is create more Hoops to jump through or ignore at best. And possibly incentivize people not to contribute or use if they feel the work could be yanked up from under them for arbitrary and capricious reasons.

But would you think it reasonable to harras and harangue German Jews who wore the star of David to identify themselves as required by the government? I don’t think a reasonable person would. When I bump into groups that have to comply with stupid state laws here where I live, I don’t blame those groups. I blame the state like any sensible person would. Not attacking and blaming other victims of the state. Do you think they should resist the state? That’s all well and good. Will you be there to defend them when the state comes? To fund these random devs defense? No? You won’t and they’re largely on their own? Then what do they owe to us? What entitles us to give them so much grief?

There’s no real way Mozilla could compete. Google has nothing to fear on that front like the browser front. It’s far more likely Mozilla’s ultimate intention. Is to integrate Gemini or similar further into the browser than they already have. Mozilla is years late to the circle jerk, and everyone else has partnered up.

Yes, they are both WebKit, though largely irrelevant. Personally, I’m a daily KDE user. I did install falkon out of Curiosity for a short while. But neither it or konqueror are generally in any distributions base install. Including KDE neon. They are usable, so long as you don’t use any sort of add-ons. Falkon is based on Qt web. So it is also WebKit.

They also haven’t written a browser. It’s an apples and oranges comparison. There are plenty of Firefox derivatives that don’t have all the bloat that Mozilla, et cetera, is putting into there. That’s not the point. The point is how controlled they are by one of their competitors, namely Google. There are only three main browser makers. Chrome by Google Firefox by Mozilla and WebKit/Safari now maintained by Apple but derived from Linux’s K desktop environment web engine. There are a lot of wrappers written around these, but at the end of the day, there’s still just the three. The one real interesting bright spot though that I’m looking forward to is servo. Originally started by Mozilla, but now completely free of them. It’s not yet in a daily driver’s state, but it’s looking to be quite interesting.
