@joplinapp@mastodon.social thanks! I'll install the .deb so i can auto update it, instead of using appimage. Isnt Ubuntu one of if not the biggest linux distro? Would make sense to have the .deb published on a package manager or the very least on your website to download. Anyways i'm glad it exists, thanks.

@Wonderful_Wanderer@mastodon.social @libreoffice@fosstodon.org you can try out KDE and then you can do a uninstall command for Gnome, the you will save some space. I use Norwegian browser Vivaldi based on Chromium, but I also have Firefox installed via Snap as is default.

@Wonderful_Wanderer@mastodon.social @libreoffice@fosstodon.org KDE is just the Desktop Experience, you can download it and easily use it, while still using your Ubuntu, not reinstall or anything. You even keep your current Desktop experience, i'm guessing Gnome? And you can switch between them as you like under the login screen.

@joplinapp@mastodon.social I didn't receive this update, then I noticed I was using a Flatpak which is not offically supported by Joplin, so I went to your website and noticed you offer a appimage and a terminal command which you recommend. To be honest i'm no good with terminal commands but I did what you recommended. However i've seem to notice that you also offer a .deb installation on your github. As i'm on Ubuntu this should be my preferred way to install so I can auto update on Discover. Why isn't .deb available on your website?

I'm saying I want ID checks for social media and a law for minimum age for using social media, to keep kids of the platforms. Edit: they are arguing that this is a wrong approach as a gay person might not "roam freely" on the internet, but i'd rather protect kids than people wanting to express their sexuality on the internet.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social It's obvious that the admin of this Tuta account doesn't have kids. One day you'll understand the importance of protecting your kids at the cost of their freedom/privacy. Social media is a disgusting addiction which never should have happened and it's fucking our kids up. More ID and more laws for social media, thanks!

Just installed it on linux and have some questions: Can't seem to change a room from private to public and I can't share a link for someone to join the room/server. However I can do both those things though the Element desktop client, for the same room. Also, would it be possible to add a option or just change it to auto join a voice channel when clicking on it, like discord behaviour? I don't get the idea of the extra step. Edit: any timeline for adding app on playstore or f-droid?

@joplinapp@mastodon.social Joplin is great, but when I set it up, I could only sync my backup to Dropbox, not any European alternative like Proton Drive or Jottacloud. I hope you can add some European options instead of Dropbox.

@dansup@mastodon.social friendica is horrible. just horrible, the other apps are great, but still have weird flaws. like in mastodon, if I see a post that is really really really really long it takes forever to scroll past it, especially if this person spams. there is no "see more" text to a long text. and in mastodon just replying to you, is a small window to the left of the post. peertube won't won't without money for the creators, somehow.
