Last Boost: I have no plans to try Bluesky or Threads, but that doesn't change that we got some clean up we need to do here in the Fediverse. Being "not $_corporation" isn't good enough. How are we better? How can we *be* better? That's what's important.

Doesn't matter if we're "technically" better, what matters is what people use. I don't mind if masto stays small, but I want all my friends to feel welcome here, not just my white ones.

@Jaden2@mstdn.social Other side of the coin: frustration and pain aren't a contest. There's room to feel your feelings and also care for others. Just keep perspective, and make sure that your feelings aren't taking the space someone with more struggle needs. It's normal to get upset thinking you lost something expensive and worry about replacing them if you have.

@theotherbrook@sunny.garden @theruss@mstdn.social I've seen among their union busting lies that part of the reason they claim the employees don't need a union is the co-op.

So, if they're going to leverage that bullshit, we need to leverage it back to support the union, obviously.

@theotherbrook@sunny.garden @theruss@mstdn.social I believe their employees are also given co-op membership, but that dilutes their voice among the customers. So it's our responsibility to stand with the employees to ensure they get their union.

I just wrote my email to the board, and I signed it with my member number so they know that I am a co-op member. They'll also be able to see that my spending stopped around the time they started union busting.

@codinghorror@infosec.exchange If I have a choice, I will take *anything* before settling for true neutral. Legit brought in a retired crt monitor from home to dual screen it at work (like a decade ago?)–I think it was paired with a laptop at the time—because bosses would not get me a second monitor. Then, when that crt died a coupleish years later, one of the bosses brought in their retired crt to replace it. Yeah. 🙃 Still better than a solo monitor.
