Yeah I'd agree with most of that. But honey is a pretty traditional additive to lots of foods, even savoury ones. More common with pork perhaps than beef but still. And the berries, while being also quite high in sugar, aren't exactly unhealthy either. Idk man I just feel like American always has something processed or at least fat dripping off or like bread that's soaked in fat. This hasn't got anything processed.

I don't think one would necessarily get fat by eating this, even with the drizzle of honey. It's mostly leanish meat and fruit, that's not too bad. And contrary to popular belief one has to be a not-entirely dumb to be able to cook a good steak.

I love honey, berries and wouldn't mind having them with a steak. I'm not American. I often put honey in meaty foods I make. Also I did actually put some bilberry (proper blueberry) based hotsauce as well. And the meat was horse. And again. Not American. What makes you think they have to be American? I'd understand if it was like spray-cheese or hfcs or even maple syrup, but idk what about this shouts American? Just curious not flaming.

I survived because mom made me take judo at like a rather early age, I think I was like around six or seven. But practicing falling down safely. Ukemi.

Ukemi (受け身) refers to the art of safe falling and breakfalls in Japanese martial arts, such as judo and aikido, literally translating to “receiving body”. It is a critical skill for absorbing the impact of throws or takedowns, protecting the head and body, and ensuring training safety.

Like I didn’t even know I had that skill, but since these electric scooters and bikes and whatnot have come super popular and I’ve owned a few myself, I’ve been in way more falls and crashes than I was as a kid. Even somewhat serious ones.

But I never hit my head, and just found myself on the ground slightly winded.

In one I apparently made it sone 3m into the air, I remember seeing a car drive in front of me and then ground-sky-ground-sky-ground-sky. Luckily the dude wanted to call the cops (as he was blaming me for his wannabe tuned bmw got a bit smashed). Cops came and noted how it wasn’t my fault. The other dude had to pay a few hundred euros to me for ribs and whatnot.

Anyway how I’ve survived, literally, is intuitively shielding my head and falling the right way. Without even knowing it. I just realised after like a half a dozen crashes that it can’t be luck.

I should really start wearing a helmet.

No no, Big Library just isn't Big enough to stick it to Big IP, so that's why it *seems like* it even though I know librarians are still much the same.

I mean, yeah, sure, I guess that’s a decent solutions in terms of modern IP shit.

But like, we all know you’re not returning anything and if you wanted, you could also copy it for yourself.

I just dislike how it feels like when it was actually books, they had actual reasons to everything. There’s a queue because there’s limited copies. You need to return it and if you’re late there’s a fee, because it’s from other people’s time, etc. Nowadays that all feels like larping just to protect large companies IP’s essentially. Because digital copies don’t actually get returned.

Like when I was a kid I would’ve never thought a librarian would say “you’re not allowed to read that anymore”. Or that I couldn’t copy a thing down at home from one of their books. But now as your tokens to ebooks expire, it kinda does feel like that.

Again, too vague, and you still have the problem of when. Also, Google “man wakes up in morgue”, you’ll find tons of documented cases of people waking up at the morgue, because someone was mistaken about them being dead. Things like that is why necrophilia is generally frowned upon. Even necrophiles probably wouldn’t like to fuck the bodies which are every clearly dead, as in, say, a bloated corpse recovered from water. There’s no mistaking whether someone like that is dead or not. But someone at the morgue who’s been there less than 24 hours is still possibly alive and definitely a “they” and not an “it”.

Sort of. See you feel compelled to reply, but you now realise you were wrong, which you won’t be able to accept. There’s nothing I didn’t “get”, I just think the “joke” is ass, which it is. If there’s something I didn’t get, you could prove it by literally just saying it. But you can’t, because it doesn’t exist. Yet despite knowing that, you’re still compelled to reply. I’ve seen kids like you with the exact same tantrum literally hundreds ans hundreds of times over the years.

And calling people objects is why the right is crazy. If a person drowns and has no heartbeat, is it okay for you to have a quickie with them before the paramedics arrive to save him? Clinically they’re dead, so… by your logic, they’re an object, and never had the ability to consent in the first place, so quickly fucking them up the arse should be a-okay, right? Or is there like a timer you have for when a person goes from a person to an object, which then retroactively never had personhood anyway? Is it just time, or is it temperature, or as soon as the smell sets in? Some people have been clinically dead for half an hour in cold water before being resuscitated, the cold helping protect from brain damage. And some people smell like dead bodies while alive. I’m just curious as to your personal criteria.

Just remember to check the entire tea is free of actual tea (black/white/green tea whichever), because while chamomile doesn’t have caffeine, lots of chamomile teas are actually black teas flavoured with chamomile, but also there are obviously tons of herbal chamomile tea mixes without caffeine at all. So those would be preferable for insomniacs

Which reference exactly do you think I didn’t get? I wish I could communicate to you how well I understand people like you. You genuinely can’t disagree with people unless a bunch of people have done it first. You’re too afraid of deciding anything, ever. A follower. What’s brown and sticky? A stick! You’re not laughing? You must not be intelligent enough to understand that the joke is that a stick is brown and “sticky”, because “sticky” here is referring to the quality of being a stick, and not actually used as a noun describing adhesives, like it usually is. /s Ofc you understand the joke, but unless your age is in singles digits, you’ll probably not find it actually amusing, and while technically a joke, it’s not exactly a prime example. But what’s the difference between me not finding that amusing and me not finding this post amusing? Literally nothing. Yet you think one is an arcane jest that only you chosen ones can understand and no-one could possibly not be amused by it so it must have just gone over my head. And I’m not closed-minded, so perhaps it did. Please, explain the joke I not getting.

Okay, so explain what I missed, please? You don’t think people should say when they hear bad jokes, because you grew up without anyone being allowed to criticise anything and eveyone having to simp to some societal order which you never even realised to think about. So you literally think no matter how fucking dumb “a joke” is, you have to laugh at it. That probably means you’ve never actually laughed at a joke. So for you they’re not something fun, they’re just a social nicety. And not seeing that, well, that is a joke I am smiling aloud at. :D

I haven’t tried modafinil no. Should give it a whack if any comes available. I used to have a classmate who was on it but that was 10+ year’s ago and I didn’t really know him. What actually worked best was the very plain diet but I just… it’s just so boring eating nothing but rice and gluten free fish sticks. But then I started to be able to just easily sleep 6 hours and get up. Felt like a real person. Because genuinely oftentimes if I try to get up but haven’t gotten enough rest, I’ll be worse off than when I’ve had a bottle of rum. Like my eyes won’t go straight and I can’t really get up properly. Although I have to admit that some of these later long sleeps have been contributed to by the new meds I got for a broken rib, amitriptyline or the like. But it’s alaovi used for IBS and depression, and neither of those are going amiss for me basically. But man it’s tiring. Idk how that would help anyone with depression. I mean yeah I care less about being tired and am not as annoyed about sleeping more than half the day but I don’t feel like it’s really helped my depression at all if it keeps me asleep for more than half the day. But even without it I have issues. And I open curtains and have automatic lights to come on full at a decent wakeup time. But yeah I could give modafinil a whack if i had some idk. But I think I’ll just have to to back to rice/fish/potatoes/chicken diet.

Yeah luckily I don’t have it quite that bad, (especially after I went on an exclusion diet and slowly added things to a really plain diet and sort of figured a bit what works what doesn’t) but, yes, I definitely agree with you. Not fun. I’d rather be fat and jolly than slim and super cranky from constantly being in some weird state of mild starvation. But it’s so mild and I make sure to supplement vitamins and whatnot so none of my basic lab-work is showing anything too far out of the ordinary, so the busy public doctors can’t be bothered to look into it since to them everything seems fine. Even when I can show them almost a years worth of literally shit pics, me having taken photographs of my stinky and floating orange poo. (I sent them to a spam-email I have so I don’t have to keep them in my phone’s gallery.)

I mean, as an actual disabled person… By just like, backing up to it? Well, as an actual disabled person, how many different chairs do you have on a daily basis? Because as a taxi driver driving around disabled people, there’s a lot of different chairs. I’ve never seen one without a backrest. Do you have one? Could you back into that with a chair? Ofc. But if yours has a backrest like all the other chairs, you’ll hit the backrest before with the back of your chair before you’d be in the same line as a person leaning back on other parts of the bench. Not to even mention that a ton of the people that I know who use chairs have often have a bag or a backpack hanging back there. I don’t want to be around when they pull into a parking spot and then can’t drive forward out of it… As a professional driver, I can tell you that if you have to choose a parking place between a space that’s only just and just free (three cars around it, all parked tightly so as to not leave any extra room even close to the line), and one that is completely free, not a single car around it, you choose the latter one. Can I reverse into the former? Ofc. Even just a few years after I started, when I was still very young, around 20, I made grown (and somewhat drunk) men give a little shriek as they thought I would crash the car when driving in places where they thought a car wouldn’t fit (because people were picked up usually from in front of a bar, and bars can exist in the weirdest places.) So with that logic in mind, my question is why would you, as a chair user, ever want to back in to this bench, when you could just park next to it, effectively lengthening the bench? Put 1,000 hotel rooms, but only 5 are made for accessibility? Your store has a wheelchair ramp, all the fuck at the end of the building near the loading docks? Not a problem in the EU/Finland (idk which the regulations comes from) We got building regulations. Shit, even paving walkways, in fucking modular concrete squares, suck ass: when (not if) the front wheels get stuck, especially if I’m being pushed, my ass gets launched. I would’ve been proud if this wasn’t a problem either, but as someone who regularly pushed chairs, I’m so goddamn disappointed in my own city. They remodelled the market square for a parking garage they wanted to build below it. Corruption and capitalism wins and after years and years of talks, more years of building and millions of euros, we got an utterly shit market square made of roughly 40cm x 40cm tiles which won’t stay the fuck down because of the soil. I haven’t had to push a chair through that yet but I dread it for any one who does, be they pushing their own chairs or getting pushed. Hell, I’ve almost fallen down several times and I like to think I have good awareness in general. It would be bad enough when a completely abled person falls off their feet, seems it would be much more devastating to someone in a chair, let alone if they’re traveling solo. Thankfully it’s literally the busiest place in the city, so at least anyone who gets hurt will get help quickly, but still. It used to be centuries old paved stone, as stable as, well idk, something really stable. Perhaps a bit bumpy for a chair user, but honestly only a tiny bit, dad used to take lots of his customers in chairs there for coffee. He had his own taxi-van with a chair-lift in the back, that’s how I started as a taxi driver, working for him. And he started because his dad (my grandpa) had the first taxi the town I was born in. My father chose to prominently tape “Gentleman of the Road” in the back of the van. For aura farming when he wouldn’t start accelerating to speeding just because some dick was hurrying him up. He really impresses upon me the need to keep the car stable. But whenever he didn’t have customers in there, just me, it wasn’t as smooth, as he raced on the slippery backroads like the pro he was. It sucks ass being disabled, but god damn it’s like the dumbest people get assigned to accessibility planning. I do empathise and honestly while I criticise a ton of things about Finland, infrastructure for disabled access is really one thing I can’t help but be somewhat proud of. Let me see if I have a photo I took perhaps last year. It might be my previous phone and then it’s lost. (Actually binned my old phone by accident, a top of the line flagship phone that only had the sim-reader faulty gooooooooodammit I still blame myself so much for that fuckup.) Oh I do have the photos, yeah. This is an outhouse with disabled access, along a nature path of which roughly 60-70% is available with a chair. The route goes around a small lake and while it is regrettable the whole path isn’t available, I think even a majority of it being available is a win. Half of it is this well maintained gravel footpath that you can sort of see the material there, but around a third or so is really craggy forest on the beach on the other side and I’d argue the amount of nature you’d have to completely get rid off to pave that part as well, the places designation as a “nature trail” would really lose something. Mainly the view from the main side of the lake, which would affect disabled people as well.

And how exactly would one even back a wheelchair into that? Wheelchairs have backrests already, so you’d just hit the backrest of this bench before being on the same line as the other people sitting on it.

“Yeah, did you read that on Wikipedia?” Yes, I did. Just like I used to read things at the library in the 90’s, and no-one would’ve thought to mock that. And one of the books I read was some Soviet scientists from the 50’s describing how spiritual auras work in real life. Although that was in the 00’s I just didn’t have the internet all the time while in the army.

To be fair, the progression estimate loading bar for fusion was stuck at “estimate… 30 years” for fucking ages. And now there are actual reactors. Experimental, but still. “With the completion of the conceptual design phase, the project will now shift to engineering design, accelerated engineering R&D, and will proceed with site selection, site preparation, regulatory approvals, and the procurement of long-lead items, with the aim of construction after 2028,” it said. world-nuclear-news.org/…/conceptual-design-comple…

We are forced to drive next to these death machines and the corporations that own them take zero accountability and just bribe the president for more welfare and to not ever investigate them. Who could’ve seen this coming? youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_UfRwTwaJXLurJ0TLf16F…

Yeah me neither. I’ve heard claims that automation will take away jobs from drivers in the future, but not anyone actually saying “it’s undeniable that by 2025 most cars will be driving entirely by themselves”. And I remember when GPS was a spy-gadget daydream you imagined having when using maps. (Actual, physical maps. Not Google/Apple Maps.)

I actually googled it a bit, and idk when “hysteria” widened to include men as well, but the very first inventor of a vibrator for medical purposes said he wouldn’t use his “percuteur” for women as that would not be fitting. But he was a religious man afaik. There were all sorts of galvanic stimulators and whatnot so I don’t think they were all as prudes as we might think.
