I feel compassion for those who’ve been seduced into supporting Trump after being brutalized and mistreated for years by employers, big corporations, Wall Street, and America’s oligarchs. The Republicans’ increasingly corrupt political system — rife with crony capitalism, corporate welfare, and payoffs to the powerful — inevitably produces a corrupt economy. That’s because politics determines the rules by which an economy functions — and if those rules are products of corruption, the economy is corrupted.
Greed and payoffs replace trust. It’s happened before, after America’s first Gilded Age (see the Great Crash of 1929, leading to the Great Depression).

As many as 25 Republican senators spoke out against the slush fund and pitched ideas about how to draw some limits around it. Scott MacFarlane of Meidas News reported that senators want to know “what is Trump trying to mask by offering up this controversial fund? I mean, the optics of this are terrible. This looks bad, so is it a diversion technique? Is it some way of masking a different issue altogether?”

It is clear that members of the Trump administration never intended to honor the Constitution or serve Americans, raising the question of what exactly they do intend.
For Trump, making money is clearly a major part of it. The anger over the slush fund has pushed out of the news a growing outcry over the news from earlier this week that Trump bought and sold at least $220 million in stocks while making policy & public announcements that affected the value of those stocks.

In the swing states, Democratic voters supposedly voted blue down-ballot and then switched to Trump at the top of the ticket.

On June 5, 2025, Elon Musk announced to the world that he won the 2024 election for Trump.

Meanwhile, the DNC refuses to release the 2024 “autopsy,” but would have voters believe Democrats were so frustrated with Vice President Harris’s stance on Gaza that they voted for Donald Trump instead.

Thomas Jefferson, the key author of the Declaration of Independence, and James Madison of Virginia, the key thinker behind the Constitution, both wrote explicitly about the importance of keeping the government separate from religion. All of which raises a fundamental question: Has the official Republican Party — now nearly purged of anyone willing to reflect the concerns of Republican voters rather than Trump’s will — become complicit in Trump’s criminality? Is it aiding and abetting Trump’s lawlessness?

After posting security footage of the shooter running through the lobby, he held a press conference, despite an active investigation. There, he pivoted rather bizarrely to claims that he needs his ballroom to be fully safe. This claim makes no sense because the Correspondents Dinner is a private affair and not a White House event. A ballroom isn’t going to change anything, because it’s not like the event will be held inside the White House in the future.
