Humans can be so all or nothing. The world would be a better place if people could just make an effort without abandoning what isn't perfect.
Instead of being vegan or eating the excessive amount of meat most Americans at least eat, people could reduce their consumption of meat.
If someone can't bring themselves to wear a n95 everywhere, wearing one to the doctor and on public transit would make a big difference still.
If you can't fix the whole world, why not fix something in your reach, instead of abandoning the whole world?
I think a lot of people who hate vegans or resent people in masks or other similar scenarios (heck, the amount of people who've gotten mad at me for refusing to use AI) are on some level angry about being reminded of their own complicity and the level of day to day violence of society.
Instead of getting mad at people for trying to do less harm, I wish more people would themselves try to do less harm in the ways they are able.
