On the plus side, putting in some tomatoes will thin them so they have more space. Maybe you could pot up some of the ones you take out for tomatoes, to sell or give away?

@yvan I wish you could transport this to me! I'm trying to have exactly this problem.
I realize this is not a universal opinion, but I really prefer Claytonia to lettuce as a salad green. It's got a better texture in most cases, and better flavor.

@inquiline my understanding was that they excluded everyone with pre-existing conditions, which after 6 years of a mass-disabling pandemic, is pretty much no one. And depending on whether they used the same criteria as insurance, that could have excluded all women and trans people of any gender.
