oh shit I thought that was just a brave/tablet problem on Lemmy. It's definitely mildly infuriating to have been moved down half the feed when hitting back, thought the browser was recognizing I was halfway down a comment section or something so it was registering the movement when I went back or something. On PC I just do new tabs (habit) like you said so I never notice it.

Is everyone lost in the sauce in these comments? The meme is about holding fascists accountable for things like authoritarian actions, not passing milquetoast policies to capitulate to their voting base when they don't follow through on 90% of what their campaign promises were. Talking Epstein action, state surveillance overreach, actual war crimes and unconstitutional breaches that are handwaved away or not addressed (usually strengthened or re-instituted during "progressive" times). This has been going on since the civil war, "Let's move on and focus on the future, not hold people to standards or accountability (or the actual fucking law)". I predict *maybe* 2-3 high profile cases during the next presidential term that will try to go after someone but will just be a drop in the bucket compared to what people are getting away with.

If you have space outside, plant native trees/vines/bushes that will help shade the building from the sun if you’re getting direct sunlight. You can just do clippings from wild growing plants for free. timing of the windows opening and closing is key. Also tracking temperature helps, just a crappy thermometer (one indoors and one outside not in sunlight) will let you know when it’s time to open or close up. Concrete/bricks work both ways as a thermal mass, if you can get them cool and covered from the sun it will help cool your area (think of cold concrete floors, I have an inner brick wall that an extension was built out on and it stays coolish). Same with water, most have experienced a cold water pool/pond on a hot day, big blocks of frozen ice can do the trick if you stick to freezing at night. Free stuff: No/less electronics during the day (tvs/chargers/computer), it all adds to the heat no cooking during day, cold cuts/food only till night Take a nap during the hottest part if possible, or just sleep in daytime and move about at night on off days (something about waking up after a nap makes it seem less overbearing) do maintenance on your fans, take them apart and clean/grease anything that needs it (will need to clean more often if you lubricate due to dust build up causing gunk) Black-out curtains are great to stop light, but if it’s entering the window already it’s just heating up that one spot so you’re still technically getting the thermal radiation. For that fix you would want reflective window covers, even foil would technically help slapped to the window (it’s the only time those reflective insulation boards actually do anything with infrared). Foil with something behind it to insulate, like literally anything (cardboard wrapped in plastic to air seal can even do it), then you can take down your contraption at night to let air through to cool. Insulating and air sealing. Alternatively, air flow in any spots building more heat than the outside temp (like an attic or upstairs area). If it’s a family owned place it’s easier, renting you might have to address concerns with landlord. Currently temps in my area are getting about 95f(35c) daytime and 65f(18c) to 60f(15c) at night. I can usually get my house down to 68ish(20c) before the sun comes up. Windows in a bottom floor with fans pointing in, any windows upstairs with fans blowing out (hot air rises, it’s the same technique for american colonial/victorian houses with dormers emulating ancient style architecture for passive cooling). If it’s single story just be aware of wind direction if you’re using the fan method and point some in where the wind is blowing and pointing out at the opposite side. My house will at max hit about 80f(26c) but by then it’s time to open the windows because the sun has set. At some point, once true-true summer hits, the nights will be about 80f(26c) and over 100f(38cish) during the day. At that point regulating your body and getting used to the temps is key and an A/C or sometype of ground thermal air flow is the only way you’re going to make anything cool. If you’re using A/C just seal the crap out of your windows with plastic and/or insulation (remember condensation like an ice cup though will cause moisture and mold/mildew growth on the exterior if not done properly). Pick a room that keeps the coldest and put whatever you can on the walls and windows (even a quilt on the walls will help insulate some). Seal up as much as possible and hide from the heat.

I wish more people did this, I sometimes have to convince people it's ok to remove stickers from the manufacturers. I recently painted my dryer and it's controls, the washers getting a treatment next. You can just pick up some nail polish and go to town on appliances if you want to start small.

Another great example of how AI is just wreaking havoc on people’s brains.

  • Wants to show an enticing product to execs, doesn’t want to invest in paying an artist
  • realizes they have to have connections but doesn’t want to network
  • wants recognition of their hard work, hasn’t sought out a community or collaboration but states “show me the money”

AI will fix everything for me! Slop doesn’t exist! (ignores the very article we’re in, any platform algorithm feed, the us president shit posting, all the slop that gets presented here). Go get em Nik, don’t let haters stop your brilliance.

I guarantee you he has tried to nuke Iran multiple times already. The brass keeps turning him down (which is why Hogsack has such freewill to fuck up the military command structure) and his handlers don’t want the bad PR of trying to nuke. Not that his base would mind, but even being denied to nuke would make him look weak and some people might cross the aisle at that point.

can't believe I had to scroll down so far to see the only real answer for the best/most effective one. All the other ones are just spot welded on and the disc won't spin. Only downside is if you're trying to cut something like a deep dish but at that depth all of them will have issues.

It’s less of trying to do “days” and more just a 24 hour period of any given day. Syncing isn’t necessary as we can all just sit down for a few minutes on a singular device to get a gist of our needs and what our day is like. The calendars I’m used to usually are great for different events for different days but this is just more of a sleep, work, chores, etc in a day and what times they’re available. I’ll edit in some images in the upload to explain more what I’m looking for.

Any good 24-hour schedule programs to track multiple people and events?

I’ve been browsing through the throng of generated sites and adware trying to find something that’s simple and easy to track and manipulate. Honestly something as simple as the rimworld schedule would work (I’ve been tempted to boot it up but I can’t add notations or change category fields). Found some things that are similar but very crude and usually in a horrible format. I’m also weary of a lot wanting me to sign up for a “free” version or downloading sketchy software. I suppose there are excel versions but that’s more manual entry and was looking for something with sliders I can control and expand to cover time slots. Something a couple of people will use and can easily change around to show their preference. edit: some examples but not exactly what I’m looking for (looking for just a day, something less excel looking for ease of visual understanding) (the boxes are great but feel like the horizontal style is easier and being able to slide the boxes or make the sizes different)

I’m not sure what is going on, but it feels like everyone that I’ve followed or enjoyed watching now has huge leanings/kickbacks from companies they seem to be promoting on their platforms. Specifically space news recently has really shown the bias with everyone foaming at the mouth about how brilliant SpaceX is when they decide to pivot to the moon instead of mars or adding safety measures like water to a launchpad which has been done for decades. I think my breaking point was a recent video of someone walking around, what seemed to be a campus, explaining the server/hosting logistics and technical aspects but then pivoted into how great it was when everything they were saying seemed to be a negative. Followed all the relevant links to the person and of course they work for google, so it’s some kinda “non-mainstream advertising” in the guise of actual knowledge. I think the only two individuals I watch anymore are Anton and Fran. Hell, some of Neil Degrasse Tyson’s shit has been interesting me just because of my lack of content and I’m unfortunately someone who just can’t stand the guy (but I’ll admit I’ve seen some videos lately and he’s made good points while calling out bad actors in question).
