@EricIndiana I had clues well before that something was going on when she wouldn’t visit us because we were ‘too close to thr Mexican border’ . (We live in northern San Diego county). We tried to communicate but when the 2016 christmas card came saying how trump would fix everything I knew in my heart it was over. I was so depressed that season. But when the Women’s march came in January, it filled me with hope. There are so many other folks out there who understand the stakes and are brave enough to stand up. That really saved me. And I appreciate when I see other families going strong. So thanks for your post. It means a lot. And sorry to drag you thru that story. 😺

For anyone in the US who uses #biodiesel fuel, what are you paying now for the #fuel? What have #FuelPrices done over the last week in your area, and what state/territory are you in? I'm in #California, and my pump price has gone from $4.69/gal to $6.49/gal in the last week. It makes zero sense to me as this fuel is produced in the US and is not a petrochemical.

I scanned through some images online that were deliberately infected with bacteria of various kinds, and they don't resemble what's happening here (but this is film, not a final product). Anyway I'm kind of ruling that out now. If what you say is true, then the least stable layer is green, which has moved to the edges of the film, and the blue has been mobilized and reacted in some way, but has some level of geometric stability, much like the "angle of repose" of gravel slopes under gravity. Beyond that, I'd say this is a rather unique piece of natural art.

@nosfe This is exposed film right? I see repeated frames of actual winter trees. The pattern I see suggests some element coming in from the edges has preferentially moved towards the center of the film along some scratches, and from there is separating the film layers. The blue areas appear dirty, in dots along horizontal scratch lines and at the expanding fronts of the triangles. This suggests that the triangles are filling in, rather than simply growing larger. I think this is the biggest hint that this is predominantly a biological process. Did the film suffer some extreme? Also, see the ghosts if the tracking holes? This means that the (supposed biological) process required some level of anaerobic environment to grow.
