I don’t have too many in my life and my mental health has greatly improved from not dealing with this in the past years. I don’t know if it’s just a pitfall of close relationships or poor ones, as I’m a bit of a loner.

I know some people get big feelings about being able to request women drivers, but I was really relieved to have that option especially since this is a novel experience.

If you are short enough you can get pants in the juniors department with like 8000 pockets. Not the height of fashion, but comfy with those elastic waistbands and decently affordable.

Well Friday I had a good reminder that I am cool as a cucumber in an emergency. Colleague and her staff had a panic in a moment of crisis and I just took over. So I have that going for me. But I think sometime in my 20s it hit home that not everyone is like this.

I asked for a raise…

Last week I asked for a raise. I have never done that before. I asked for way more than I thought I would get. Anyways, they gave me a little less than what I asked for, but they did give it to me! I was really surprised, and glad I didn’t have to job hop.

I was this kid. Our household was a little free range (lots of booze and rolled up dollar bills, not a lot of food and often no electricity). I had lice a few times, and we also had some food insecurity, but I honestly have almost no memory of it. So I stole food and I was stinky. Being ostracized, I made up friends to talk to as a coping mechanism. I guess those were my crimes.

I don’t really. My career gives me purpose which makes it fade temporarily while I’m busy or tired.. Some days I just couch rot to build up my energy to be purposeful and lessen the awareness of it. It feels like accepting it and working with it is more realistic for me.

Sometimes being lonely hits like a truck. But it passes like grief that’s a few years old. Everything else is okayish. Have overcome the major life hurdles. Can’t complain.

These kind of posts were pretty common post 9/11 as well. People who don’t actually care about women suddenly super concerned about this issue. But ask them about the issues closest to them and they are definitely not supportive of feminism.
