I found Rekieta during his Rittenhouse trail coverage. Right after that he got mixed-up in the Jack Murphy stuff, and he and his buddy Drex wore Jack Murphy beards on his New Years Eve show. It was on that New Years Eve show that Nick played the "When Gunts Collide" video, and that was how I first got exposed to Ralph. It took me a little while to figure out that Jeremy, Rekieta, Metokur, and the Gunt all knew each other.

They come out twice a year for 3 or 4 weeks in the Spring and then again for a couple weeks in September. They mate, get stuck together and then just hover over the roads. They make a real mess on your windshield, and their guts are acidic, so you need to clean them off frequently or they could damage the clearcoat on your vehicle.

My riding buddies always let me take the lead cause I set a good pace. We came to a little play area off the main trail that had a bunch of narrow twisting trails amongst some head high bushes. I went flying around this sharp turn in the trail and there it was, standing broadside and blocking the whole trail. It seemed to go stiff legged and arched its back, like a scared housecat. I hit the brakes and came to a halt about 5 foot away from him. After staring at each other for a couple seconds, it jumped into the bushes and disappeared......then, boom, boom, boom, one by one my three riding buddies came around the corner and ran into the back of the ATV in front of them. The didn't believe my bear story until I pointed out the big paw prints in the white sand, then we all got back on our quads and hauled ass back to the main trail.

The black bears in the Florida panhandle and southwest Alabama don't seem to get that big, around 100 to 200 pounds. They say black bears can top out around 500 pounds, and that's about how big that one was that I almost ran into down by Ocala.

As I understand it, Blanche was renting the house and sub-letting the extra rooms to Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, and Jonny. I believe that just two weeks or so after Jonny moved in, Blanche was notified by the owner that they were going to sell the house, and that everyone needed to be out of there by sometime in May.
