Ars Technica is here with the hard-hitting news that not every tech issue is caused by AI. Kyle Orland seems to find it really, really important to highlight the nuances of "vibe coding" vs "AI-assisted" coding. He cites a bluesky dev that says "Human review and direction remain key."

By the way, Kyle was credited as co-author of an article with hallucinated citations that was pulled and eventually lead to the firing of the other author. Because apparently, *his* review and direction were not sufficient.

They "do not encourage" LLM-assissted contributions, but they don't ban them as long as you pinky swear you were super-duper careful.

Then maybe you should *ban* the slop machines that generate large amounts of insecure and buggy code that you need to review much more carefully than anything else?

Scrolling through a github PR diff and some of the javascript and html files just don't have any syntax highlighting, seemingly arbitrarily. I refresh and scroll all the way down and the syntax highlighting is there. Good job, Microsoft, very modern.
