We are half-way around the world poking a nation that is several thousand years older than our own, on behalf of one of the youngest nation of all.
It must be sort of an experiment to see how different, or the same, everything still is with reference to whatever it was that the Founding Fathers may have had in mind when they mentioned "entangling alliances".
It sounds like quantum mechanics to me, i.e. spooky action at a distance.
To me it is like living in a bathtub, and on the other side of the planet is a drain, and someone is about to pull the drain plug, and soon we will be swirling around it and headed down. Some, apparently in anticipation, are already showing signs.
It's fascinating, really, that it can even happen at all.
But to watch in real time is like being in a special level of hell, the mezzanine, maybe.
I'm not sure who is to blame, but from the looks of the people who claim to be involved, it has something to do with suits, neckties, and badges. The actual people come in all sizes, genders, shapes, colors, ethnicities and religions.
Maybe I am wrong about the suits and neckties, but I would encourage everyone to take a look at that situation with fresh eyes. If professionalism will save us, I think it would have already happened.

Is the average labor union member in the average munitions manufacturing facility ready to take moral responsibility for the logical consequences of their mode of obtaining a "livelihood"? Or, are they content to live in an amoral universe? Or, maybe they are able to live with themselves because their moral universe is all scrambled up, so since nothing can be understood, then there is no moral question to be answered. Regarding the part where you got a little lost, it is because I am fascinated by the appearance of fractal recurrences of invariant personality-like characteristics at different scales. We see national character and personal character in the same terms, essentially.
Not the specialist in pursuit of the hard facts of ontological reality, but the rest of us, who are watching the world, listening to the explanations, and trying to understand it.
These are the domains that I am interested in exploring, in the sense of uncovering the universe of normative language for the discussion. The LLM is very powerful at this.

In my model I would say that you are working with ontological reality. This is good, and as I model it, an extension of meso scale knowledge.
My focus is on the relationship between the individual and the society, and their co-emergence through evolution. I have been working with modes of understanding, and find that we are often interested in that seem to exist between systems, even though ontologically we know that the parallels are of limited range. My working method is to work with the fact that ideas in the corpus are expressed in two ways: either seeking ontological consistency, or seeking homotopies in metaphorical references.
I am working with the metaphorical references, conceived as system of scale invariant properties, ideals. Not ontologically connected to reality, but connected to perception.
I recognize the validity of your gentle explanation that perception is not reality, and that metaphors do not add up to reality. At the same time, I am hoping to use the fact of the original recourse to metaphor, and the fact that the LLM only deals with statistics, that the output of the LLM would essentially represent the best metaphorical view of what the reality is understood to be. I see the LLM as an educational tool for communicating what is already known.

"The acts of civil disobedience currently taking place on campuses are imbibed with spirit of the 1960s Berkely Free Speech Movement. Then, as now, students are fighting for the right to be heard, overturn acts of social injustice, and to bring to an end what Mario Savio, one of the leaders of the movement, called “the operation of the machine [that has become] so odious [that] you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels … upon the levers, upon …the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop! And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!”[48] What the students protesters at Columbia, Yale, New York University and other campuses throughout the U.S. are making clear is that power must be held accountable and that the plague of silence over the war on Palestinians has to be broken so as to inject the struggle for human rights back into the language of a politics built upon the values of equality, social justice, liberty, and human dignity. What young people are teaching the world today, heeding the words of the great abolitionist Frederick Douglass, is that freedom is an empty abstraction if people fail to act, and that “if there is no struggle, there is no progress.”[49] What they are fighting for is not just a call to end the war against the Palestinian people, a war that is a moral litmus test of our time, but what it means to imagine and fight for a more just and better world.

Since the October 7 attacks, some officials have described an expedited policy process to transfer arms to Israel while insisting the government continues to comply with the law. That said, it is unclear whether the same policy controls implemented by the Obama administration after the above-referenced incident (i.e., consultation with the White House and the State Department before approving Israel’s requests for arms) are still in place. Those policies could have been changed under President Trump, and if they weren’t, it is possible that they have been altered under President Biden given the “tiger team” he has established to expedite transfers of arms to Israel. Some former officials have described the Biden administration bypassing its own policy processes to quickly transfer arms to Israel.
