SMD soldering using the sun. it works astonishingly well. the trick is to de-focus the spot and light up the whole PCB. first we failed by heating the metal plate underneath with a highly focused spot. but that led to accidentally burnt PCB spots at corners and didn't melt the paste. it works so much better than using a hot plate, so I officially declare it state of the art as of today. #SMD #soldering #solar #solarpunk #flwr #anal0g_flow3r #sks2026

any SPI flash experts? either winbond smokes bad stuff, or I accidentally broke their security or JLC mounts counterfeit parts. this is a 16MB flash, specifically a winbond W25Q128JVSIQ. usually you R and W the 16MB and that&#39;s it. but the device has also &quot;security registers&quot; 1-3 in each of the three &quot;regs&quot; you can write 256 bytes, and optionally lock them. teeheeehee look what I caught, a new kit! an anglerfish which is a flashlight. charge it for like 10 seconds, it stays lit for many minutes (IDK I just soldered these two, made photos, edited, wrote the post, they&#39;re still lit). the big round component is a 5.5V and 1.5F supercap, or gold cap as some call them. the tail fin is a USB-A for charging. you can use either the switch or the pushbutton. #anglerfish #anglerfisch #supercap #goldcap #solderkit #easterhegg #easterhegg2026 #east...
