any SPI flash experts? either winbond smokes bad stuff, or I accidentally broke their security or JLC mounts counterfeit parts. this is a 16MB flash, specifically a winbond W25Q128JVSIQ. usually you R and W the 16MB and that's it. but the device has also "security registers" 1-3 in each of the three "regs" you can write 256 bytes, and optionally lock them. I used this feature, in SR1 I place a URL, and a serial number and a UUID, etc.I didn't touch SR2 and 3. now three is a odd number
