@ben once upon a lifetime ago, Medium paid me an honorarium to serialize a novella I wrote on their site for NaNoWriMo Self-published fiction often could use an editor, however. I’d also be interested in who’s publishing other people’s fiction, or other literary writing, successfully online these days

I’m sitting in Mexico City with a beautiful coffee and donut having just finished a German novel about post-Nazism, patriarchy, and indoctrination in separated Berlin thinking about the country I will come home to tomorrow. @futurebird I would encourage educators to create assignments that explicitly direct students to engage critically with GenAI. For example, a history teacher could have students use ChatGPT to answer a prompt and then use 3 other sources to critique or expand on its answer. Or an English teacher could have students edit an essay chatgpt wrote and write a reflection on what needed to be changed and why. These are the assignments I’d be doing if I were still in writing education.

@xmark I saw on Bluesky that it’s Oracle who turned servers back on but the app stores are more conservative. So it’s back online for existing users but not new ones Crazy the amount of individual CEO discretion over our information access..
