  Aside from work I spent a few hours today to remove the dead ivy from the balcony, clean the entire wall, repaint it twice and reinstall the planting beds there with fresh material.

  Funny how the commie is selectively filtering between platforms. On X he's almost knee-deep in China's ass how wonderful and modern everything is (don't you mention any negative sides).   I dislike this blind propaganda of heat pumps. Yes, nice concept. BUT! They will only save you money if you also have the means to combine them with a PV-system and battery. Otherwise the annual price for grid electricity to run the pump is about the same as the annual expenses for gas etc with the difference that a new heat pump (even with state funds) costs a lot more initially.

  I present "Meltup" - a portmanteau of Meltdown and Hiccup. Basically an intermittent Meltdown with phases of logic and clarity in between bursts of rage and whining. Being open to arguments for a few lines in a chat or comment section but mostly just crying over trivia. Last seen on FA these days during the "great notification purge".

  One painful thing I noticed over the past 5+ years is the trend to make websites that rely so heavily on JS that without they no longer function. JS used to be a nice way for fancy add-ons, to allow comfort but not to be a necessity. When I visit a website and the first message I read is "This *APP* requires JavaScript", I close that site again.   Drove south today for vacation - 7h, 700km. Even with the gas prices, it cost me ~120€ with unlimited* luggage, no in between stops and no external nuisances. Most train tickets are more expensive than that and you get all the joy like delays, overcrowding, closed food service etc. With the current state of German Railways, gas would need to be like 4€/l to make train the better option
