I got this awesome commission from @Neotheta yesterday! You should check them out - in-stream commissions (almost) every Wednesday afternoon and a proper commission opening coming up next Friday (May 15th at 15:00 UTC)! ---------------------------------- 'This just feels right...' he muttered to himself. Streifi loved being outdoor in general, more so when he felt the urge to clear his mind of certain thoughts. The tigergryphon walked along the stream for some time before he stopped, looking at the water's surface as if he needed a particular spot. He then knelt down right at the very bank, inches from the water. For a flowing stream it was rather calm and clear, but a constant yet ever-changing pattern of swirls, whirlpools and small waves distorted the reflection of himself when he looked down. He wasn't sad, but mostly in a pensive state of mind, allowing memories of past events to surface once again. For his age he sure had his share of major events and happenings, and sure not all of those were pleasant ones. Sometimes tho, it was necessary to no longer have a particular memory linger in the background, weighing the mood down. This was his way of shedding them. As he watched the reflection calmly, different parts of it becoming a blur, then being all clear again, he allowed the thought to revolve around this memory, having it emerge and almost relive it once more. But just as the reflection faded here and there, so did that recollection. Parts of it starting to fade. And while his reflection reappeared for as long as he gave it time, those bits and pieces of memory did not. The flow of the water carried those along, not deleted or gone, but no longer a part of him, either. The gryphon was in no rush, time not being of the essence here, but rather a conscious approach. Taking deep, calm breaths he kept that position for as long as necessary. Once getting back up, he felt different, relieved. He still carries the motto that the sum of past experiences shapes our current being, our current state and no matter if those events were good or bad, we cannot deny them being a part of us. Yet, sometimes we have to let them go before their presence in our mind becomes too great of a burden. When the past weighs you down, you can no longer move forward. #mastoart #furry #furryart
