I've recently started to watch #Taskmaster for my daily mindless entertainment. Now my dreams are going crazy. I just woke up because I nedded to pee into a funnel at a bus stop before another team member could roll 42 grams of paper in 14 grams of sugar. I was happy I found a package of 14 grams of sugar on my search for the funnel because we didn't have much time. But then everything wasn't real, except for one bit.

Margaret Atwood (Author of The Handmaid's Tale) was guest to the German podcast "Alles gesagt?" by Die Zeit. I've never heard an English episode from them. And I've never heard Margaret Atwood talk about Trump's regime and tell stories from her life. I think it's a good first in both instances. Alles gesagt? The most interesting talk from #39C3 to me so far is 'CSS Clicker Training: Making games in a "styling" language' by Lyra Rebane https://media.ccc.de/v/39c3-css-clicker-training-making-games-in-a-styling-language about abusing CSS features to create UIs that are unexpectedly elaborate for CSS+HTML (no JS). I enjoyed the talk very much because while I heave heard of and used some of the presented techniques, I didn't know how far people take the idea of...

If I would have been responsible for creating disc images in a CD pressing factory, I would have made sure to add digital information outside of any track whenever a CD wasn't quite full. Nothing useful. Just dick jokes and the like. People like me exist. Now it's up to everybody else to search supposedly unused spaces on CDs and DVDs for structured patterns.

As somebody who has hosted videos on web pages with JS and Flash players at a time where broadband wasn't as broad as it is today, I must say I don't understand what the problem is with getting an embedded player to work. Whether it's Mastodon, some blog or a commercial web site with a product demo. If it the video is not hosted on one of the few big video platforms, it's unlikely to just play when I press play. Taking a long time to buffer is one thing with my s...
