  I have several (20+ years) of data that shows this is the last week of warm in Auckland and that this is the week that I start to wear another layer over my tshirt when I walk out to the car to go to work in the morning at 6:14am. This is also the last week before I turn the heat on in the car and in the house at some point between here and the end of April. And then it's 6 months of grind until the living is easy again.   Today we went for a picnic lunch, that did include luncheon sausage, at Awhitu Regional Park, to have a small pat of the worlds largest macrocarpa tree. There was a couple from Manchester with way too many kids, there, on holiday, that @gabba talked their ears off for a bit, who wondered how old it was, only to find it was not native to AO NZ, so not particularly old.   Friday is my favourite day. The commute is easy, I drove to work at 6am at 100km/h most of the way like petrol wasn't a concern. I did some hours of work, no lunch break and then finished at 3:30pm, drove home to my beautiful house and my beautiful wife (I typed both of those beautiful's on my own) and have mixed a couple of margaritas.   I'm coding a new expense claim system for work and it's bothering me that we have mileage rates. Kilometerage rates doesn't roll off the tongue the same way. I'm going to code kilometerage anyway, but it's making me grumpy on a Friday morning

  Here are the number plates of the first 3 cars I owned. DG7195 was a 1969 Mk1 Ford Escort van, bought in Marton in the Rangitikei district for $1700 in 1985. I picked up a Swedish hitchhiker on the southside of Foxton and drive him into Wellington to his backpackers because I just wanted to drive my first car so bad. The rear van doors squeaked so bad it was positively painful the whole way. I wonder where he is now. I hope he is happy.

  I was just sitting in another risk assessment meeting for a thing happening next week, where in part we think of everything that could go wrong and check we have mitigations and plan b. Knowing full well that us just thinking of the bad things will induce the IT Gods to make those bad things happen.
