  in order to preserve the web and prevent google from annihilating it with slop we need to get everyone to take seriously the people who have been saying to switch off of chrome and move away from gmail even though it's a bit of a pain and might take a few hours of effort every few weeks. we have until about 2017-ish to do this or else it's a lost cause. google will have won and there will be no escape from their nightmare world.

  so the nes mini I just bought takes 9VAC in, of course, but the first thing it does is go to a rectifier and then to a lm7805 voltage regulator to get to 5VDC. since I'm already modding the crap out of it to give it a snes style multi-out w/ rgb, composite, and s-video I wonder if I should also convert the barrel jack to USB-C and power it via USB-PD? 🤔 there's also a freak in me that wants to give it an hdmi output but I'm not sure how I'd do that. the case is WAY too small to...

  I tend to hate anything that's like "things are oppressive and getting worse but not to worry the people will band together and reject the awful oppressive things and create a better future!" like... no? people obviously will not do that. people are the ones who wanted the oppressive bad reality in the first place. perhaps it's comforting fiction and that's ok but that does not actually happen in reality.
