I used AI to create a userscript. No way I could have done it alone. The process was iterative and thus felt collaborative. Questions about why something was done a certain way were answered clearly. The AI seemed more helpful than a human coworker, and of course I never felt like I was bothering anyone. The resulting script works great. The process was better than working with a person in almost all ways. But collaboration with no one feels empty.

The #Mac #Neo has some fancy exploit-proof technology to make a light show on the screen whenever the camera is on. So if the camera is turned on by an unintentional or malicious process and you're looking at the screen and the light doesn't blend in with the background, you'll know the camera's on and can wave to whoever's watching! Somehow that still doesn't seem as good as a piece of tape that lets you control whether the camera is on?

When something good happens I am able to recognize it as good, and I know that happiness is a normal response to something good happening, so I am happy. But I am happy in a kind of by-definition way which has nothing to do with experiencing the sort of emotion which I think is supposed to accompany happiness. That is a kind of a failure, and failure is supposed to make one feel unhappy, but I already feel unhappy, so being happy makes it only slightly worse.

Did I buy it in celebration or to fill a void? When it arrives it will just be stuff. Even as I write this there is a small part of me that "wants it", "thinks it will be nice to have". It won't change anything nothing will change. see also: Thomson's clock without hands.

Why did #apple replace the tab key with an upside down k with a line through it?

No, I know it's wrong, but if it were right it'd be wrong... I mean, I'm getting it wrong intentionally, to be consistent about inconsistencies.

1. Government imposes tariffs. 2. Companies raise prices to cover tariffs. 3. People pay more because of tariffs. 4. Court rules tariffs illegal. 5. Companies get tariff payments refunded. So it's a Rube Goldberg for taking money from people and giving it to companies. Clever, especially the getting away with it part.

A brain is like a box for holding ideas. But ideas don't take up space so you end up putting a bunch of other random crap in the box instead.
