  Kernel level anticheat happens for the same reasons you can't have testkits/devkits without activation anymore. It's because the people who get them, instead of deciding to write homebrew and maybe seek out a job somewhere, decide the best thing to do is to use them to fucking cheat in online games or cause chaos.
