if you think the android custom rom battle was lost; you haven't seen how bad the wireless router battle is
We went from the "open Wi-Fi router" era of the WRT54GL being sold for Linux use...to "bro like just buy an AP bro and use this weird shit for routing" levels of cope.

@sendpaws You can buy mostly free software routers running OpenWRT that can do a lot, but you will pay a lot for that. https://www.turris.com/en/ Even GL.iNet is starting to lack behind on OpenWRT support upstream without proprietary SDKs.

@sendpaws openwrt community is amazing at times, i asked one question and mentioned the wireless nic I was toying with, i got called "malicious" and that "my neighbours will thank me for not using it" because the NIC was some old 802.11b realtek funniest part: it was running in monitor mode, so not a single packet was transmitted
