good morning! it’s a perfect day to fight fascism ✊🏼 may we be honest and courageous! may we practice solidarity with the vulnerable and not the wealthy! may our fierce love for one another lift our movements 🔥

reminder that it would be cheaper for the US govt to pay for your medical care than it is for them to pay insurance corporations to deny your medical care

feeling overwhelmed/tired/anxious? got 5 minutes? find a carpeted area or make a soft spot with a blanket on the floor, next to a chair, couch or ottoman. lay on your back on the floor & set your lower legs on the chair with knees bent. rest your arms comfortably, maybe making space for chest muscles to open by widening them and letting your palms face up. breathe and let your body release gravity. set a timer for 5-15 minutes. notice how you feel when you get up again!

I’m working on an AI policy for my org that allows us to opt out of AI note taking and prohibits AI in our comms/storytelling. here is my list of reasons for the policy, but my board is asking me to cite sources. Can you help me with any good references you would cite for any of these? (Or an edit or restatement where I’ve gotten it wrong or inaccurate?) *if you want to argue about why I shouldn’t have this policy kindly crawl into a hole in the ground and cover yourself with soil

rode bikes to our first Portland Thorns soccer match last night and I’m asking you to imagine a sea of red and black clad fans waving trans flags, a pep band with pounding drums, and a 2-0 shut out over Seattle even after Portland played with 2 fewer players due to red cards for much of the game! this is the kind of sportsball experience I could get used to

my biggest complaint about AI is we didn’t ask for it. zero popular movements took to the streets to demand AI. no one sat around kitchen tables lamenting how hard life is without AI. what people want is health care, housing, climate change solutions, etc We sit around kitchen tables wondering how to pay for college, get loved ones the psych and addiction support they need, or help the people on our streets who need homes

took a little time to get my whole spotify fam and all my playlists over to qobuz, but now it is done. I have a short spreadsheet of music that did not transfer, and I am submitting requests for these albums to be added to the Qobuz library

I’ve tried listening to many types of middle of the night audio books as an insomniac and the ones that really reliably work out for me are famous people biographies. I’m on Cher now and it’s legit

RE: https://social.anoxinon.de/@ninawillburger/116107626395117216 One way to think about technology is we likely had more people skillfully hewing arrowheads of quartz 5000 years ago than we do today

As a Multnomah County resident, am I grumpy about paying taxes so all children can go to preschool? no, I am not, because I don’t make over $125k a year. And if I did make over $125/yr I would be very happy to be so materially privileged at a time when so many have so little

22 miles round trip on my e-bike to ride the sunny Alex Pretti (and all killed by ICE this winter) bike ride, which joined with the union march around the ICE facility in Portland. I was just ahead of the first gassing, but it was an afternoon in which ICE firing from their building on a day time family march shattered more than glass (windows across the street) — it also shattered the illusion that there is a right way to protest. ICE gassed even the kiddos on a sunny Saturday afternoon
