Work-life balance is a way of saying "balancing the things that you are forced to do under the implicit threat of homelessness and starvation, with the things that you would like to do".

I want to buy a TRRS cable with right-angle connectors like this, ideally about 2 metres in length and high quality (lasts a long time). It's to connect both sides of my split keyboard together. Anyone have anx ideas where I can get this? On the sites I have searched, I have too much criteria. Right-angle connectorson both ends isn't a common option, it seems.

Our constraints are not brought forth from scarcity, but rather authority.

What do you think about vegans?

They make the things we need (food, shelter, medical care, education) scarce, so that they can make the thing they want (exploitable labour) abundant.

Poverty is not natural but rather coerced into existence, it is reproduced and maintained by continually sabotaging people's self-determination, their ability to get by as is.

My name is Sashin. I am functioning as a software developer but I am an aspiring writer. I am passionate about clear communication, left-wing politics (anarchism, human rights and anti-bigotry), free software and animal rights. I want to develop a deep understanding about how the world works, spread that knowledge and work towards making it a better place. I love anime and manga. My favourite manga is #onepiece which I have been reading every week since I was in highschool. My favourite a...

RE: https://mastodon.nz/@cestfleuve/116854277521545603 Money is fake news. It's printed by the central bank to meet the budget. It's not the real constraint, labour, expertise and natural resources are. Politicians use it as an excuse not to engage in any pro-social spending (as it will definitely hurt the ruling class). When it comes to starting new wars (which greatly benefit the ruling class), they magically find the "money". I want Modern Monetary Theory to become comm...

What we call corruption, is not at all a corruption of the system but the system working as intended. Constant corruption, constant collusion, constant betrayal, constant lying are all required to reproduce the hierarchies that we see in the world.

If we had a meaningful UBI, then everyone's basic needs would be guaranteed. We would be able to take our survival for granted. This would drastically reduce the power of money and therefore the power of the wealthy. If a person felt like they were being exploited, they weren't being respected, they weren't getting a fair deal, they could simply quit. The leverage that workers would have would be increased hugely. This is not something that I could see them allowing at all. The r...

(rambling about #languageLearning, might be nonsense beware) I think there's a trade off everyone needs to make when they learn a language, that they don't realise they need to make. They have to decide how much they value pronunciation - generally at the outset. The reason is because, if we develop an accent, it would take a lot more work to correct it than if we learn to pronounce properly from the outset. Having a lot of deeply ingrained "bad" habits, is harder to work wi...

The more left-wing of the political establishment (eg; the democrats, the labour party) is nothing but the PR wing for the ruling class. These people are your enemies, you should hold contempt for them, not trust a word out of their mouths, and treat them as such.
