I often was kinda sad back home in Mpls that nothing more militant was happening on May Day, but at least people usually got in the street and sometimes there was a spark (and ofc Mpls also has its first weekend in May hippie dippie puppetstravaganza). For my first May Day out here in the plains, the fuckin DSA cancelled their tentative May Day mill-about-in-a-park, and instead suggested people attend a crawfish boil (I am not making this up)

I wish manufacturers of "eco" disposable products would clearly indicate when they are only commercially compostable (which is most of the time), as compared to backyard-compostable Helluva time tryna convince the person who shares the compost here that the to-go cups from the coffee shop down the way (which does not compost, and which is in a city that does not offer residential compost service) are not gonna turn into dirt in the backyard bin anytime soon.

Some notes from friends otg in #Minneapolis about what's been working to defend neighbors from #ICE and what's not: --ICE agents are getting even more angry and aggressive. Yelling and making them miserable is effective at getting them to leave, but keep your distance. Scream, holler, make a scene. --Running from ICE works - they generally are not pursuing.
