I....don't want to alarm anyone but I might go to the Pride dance and stand awkwardly for an hour just to see if I still hate dances*. I haven't been to any in 10 or more years, I don't think. How did I decide to do this with my social anxiety? Why, I am using an age-old trick called "when I want to leave, I can just do that". I'll post when i get back to let you know if I still hate dances*. *I could still hate dances generally but have fun at this particular dance,...

Good morning, today I will hobble around like a marionette with tangled strings because I moved around a lot playing dodgeball last night and now all the parts of my feet, legs, back, and shoulders that I never use are angry at me for being used so much.

The great thing about "telling it straight down the middle" is one side can tell bigger and bigger lies and you just go with it forever.

I forget what movie it was, but when rumours came out that Jared Leto's "method acting" was a huge disruption for everyone on set I decided he was trash. I kinda think that folks who act like dicks and invent elaborate excuses for why they "had to" act like dicks are dicks.

If the billionaires do not understand the value of books, that is something we can use against them, somehow.

Look, I write letters to politicians (who I didn't vote for, btw, i voted for a communist this last time I think. i find that more fun that telling strangers I think voting doesn't matter even if it's just as "effective") for a few reasons. NOT because I have a serious expectation they will derail their whole political career just to save the planet (like, who expects that? This isn't a hollywood movie and only arnold was ever an action hero AND a (cruel) politician, so...

If Hunter Biden reads this: hey cool theory about how gays' internalized homophobia makes them ruin the country. What's the straight oligarchs (there's a lot more of those than the gays, if you check) excuse?

I'm not in the UK so this petition isn't for me, but if you are, please give it a sign to protect our trans kin: https://action.goodlawproject.org/sex-matters-complaint

Canada and USA pointing fingers at each other for climate crimes is actually hilarious (unless you live on the planet)

JK Rowling amplifies nazis, hangs out with nazis, gives money to nazi causes, spreads misinformation about the nazis, is implicated in the nazi-influenced epstein files, and directly harms the sort of people nazis directly harm But calling her a nazi is handing "gifts to our enemies". *eyeroll so hard the earth tilts*

Like, if you think "there are already so many rapists in government, what's one more" it is ABSOLUTELY time for you to put your electoralism on the shelf for a little while and join a direct action or mutual aid group and forget about politics for a while.

Always, always, always pay attention to what white supremacists get away with at their protests that anti-Black violence protestors, Indigenous protestors, disability rights protestors, queer protestors can't even dream of or get 100 year sentences in prison.

Today for no reason in particular I hope for all oppressed peoples to be liberated, for old monuments of power to crumble, and for gardens and wilderness of every kind to thrive in the ruins.

I'm dipping into Carney's "energy" announcement and FUCK YOU Mark Carney. His calm voice explaining that yeah, Canada will emit more emissions, but cutting emissions just "isn;t sustainable". FUCK. YOU. MARK. CARNEY.

I *never* want your explanation for why you voted Liberal.

Letter to Liberal MP Mike Kelloway: Dear Mike Kelloway, "Dismay" is not a strong enough word to describe my feelings at Mark Carney's announcement that Canada will INCREASE our carbon emissions in the next few years. I called him murderous in an email before, and increasing Canada's emissions is *murderous*. If Mark Carney doesn't understand it, maybe *you* do, as someone who needs a livable climate: we CANNOT continue to be the climate villains. It is despicable. Reg...

I'd wanna storm any media place that shows photos of happy beach-goers toasting their champaign over headlines of more than 1000 dead from the heat-waves, honestly. But I know in the heat it's hard to get worked up.

All of my gripes about society are because I was once a gullible nerd who believed all the stuff I was told about sharing and helping others and not doing harm and keeping each other safe and cared for.

Basically being on time for me involves constructing an elaborate series of mental gymnastics to occupy me between now and the thing I have to be on time for so, like a marble in a rube-goldberg machine, I roll into my little pocket to start the lever as if it was inevitable when really I just started the sequence running last week.

Went to the gym, good workout, but it's warm AND windy outside so now I'm sweaty and over-stimulated and GROSS. I'm gonna turn into goo to regenerate for a few hours until I feel less GROSS.

Today and tomorrow are supposed to be legitimately nice days, not even "Canadian" nice days, just nice. high tomorrow of 20c, I think I saw? I'm gonna go do stretches in the park because I skipped stretching at the gym yesterday and you (I, I mean, not "you", you have to do your own thing with/for/to your own body) gotta stretch sometimes or else your middle aged body says "No More" and you spend a week or more in Mystery* Pain. But...

Hey, in "I don't know physics" language, what happens with observer experiments where there are multiple observers who don't communicate? Is it possible to get a superposition thingy that collapses into different states for different observers? I'm just curious, not planning to build a particle accelerator or anything.

But seriously it would be a lifelong dream to see Canada coast to coast by train and it'd be really, really great to have a national public transportation strategy that included passenger rail at affordable prices. If I ever do get a significant windfall, that'd be my frivolous rich person purchase, a private cabin across country by train.
