I saw someone on here express sympathy toward Graham because apparently he adopted his younger sister after their parents death so she could share his military benefits and nah. Shit bird spent his entire career trying to make sure no one else received the benefits he gave his sister, including veterans benefits. Miss me with that. #uspol

Swear I'm not making this up. Red is out of the house so time to crank some music she's meh on. Couldn't decide what to play so I opened the Discogs app and gave a shake on my collection to get a random suggestion. No word of a lie, it returned The Saints' Eternally Yours. This record was a gift from J, that first batch of duplicates he sent me. This is the one he was most excited to turn me on to--horn section on the first track, and I love me a horn section. And indeed this rec...

I’m not a big believer in guilty pleasures in regard to music: it’s either a bop you dig or it isn’t, no judgement*. But this record is as close to a a guilty pleasure as I ever come. Big production 90s Country in wake of the Dixie Chicks selling buckets of records. I first saw a video for Strawberry Wine on late night cable while staying up at a house I didn’t live in and I was like, damn that gets me right in my sentiments. Which is amusing, a song about a farm girl losing her virginity to m...

Reclaiming some hipster cred after posting about my love for a mainstream 90s country record. Finally grabbed a copy of this in the wild, at my local in Brattleboro #Vermont. Great copy. Absolutely clean. If only for aesthetic reasons all my Kraftwerk albums are in the original versions. #Vermont #vinyl #NowSpinning #VinylRecords

RE: https://infosec.exchange/@briankrebs/116890719090826544 You know what would really help improve road safety? A robust and reliable multi-regional rail system.

Was watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind for the first time in decades the other night. Not surprisingly, holds up. But this was a fun bit of trivia I discovered, a young Lance Hendrickson in a non-speaking role during the final sequence.

So, after casting about for a bit, I've decided the next record I'm going to work on is a 2nd Occidental Dirt Farmers record. Back when I was going through all old DAW projects, I sorted out 7 demos (let's call them) that would be the basis of this record. The impetus behind ODF is that it is music I create using non-linear music software. Think Ableton Live's Session View--in fact, these tracks all started in Live. But I've converted all my Live projects...

First full listen through of Boards of Canada Inferno. It's amazing to me that they've kept this vibe going for decades now and still can find fresh ways to approach it. This doesn't sound like any other BoC record while still sounding like a BoC record. Also, I find it interesting that for the first (?) time, one of the dudes is credited with writing and production. The last 2 records have been "written, recorded, produced by Boards of Canada". They a...

Missing J today. Wish he was here so we could talk about Hot Chocolate—while I had known the hits he got me to get into the deep cuts. This is very much Hot Chocolate leaning into the disco sound, at the tail-end of disco's cultural significance. The thing is, Hot Chocolate was never just a disco/funk band. Their first 3 records have a lot of range. There are flavors British Invasion, psychedelic, funk, northern soul, throughout their catalog. Still, I would describe this as a &qu...

Thought I'd give record.club a try. A place to log the records I've been listening to other than occasionally dropping a photo/blurb here. Started a list of every vinyl record played in 2026. (I started it late so there's some from the beginning of the year I'm sure are missing) https://record.club/puffer/lists/every-vinyl-reocrd-ive-listened-to-in-2026
