  We are aware of a spam campaign of accounts like "supportbot" that attempted to impersonate pixelfed.social staff and get users to click on a malicious link. I (@dansup@mastodon.social) was on the way home from FediCon when the reports came in, and I promptly suspended those accounts. *Official communications from pixelfed.social admins/staff will only be sent via email, never DMs or comments.* We are working on improved measures to prevent this type of abuse.   Just a reminder that a lot of these new Loops features we've worked hard on will be coming to Pixelfed later this year. Starter Kits/Collections, Group Chats and proper threaded comments are the big ones, and we're also refactoring the backend to fix tons of bugs you've reported and make the whole experience more stable and frictionless. Once @dansup@mastodon.social gets back from FediCon, he plans to spend August preparing the new mobile app (Android + iOS) and web UI for release....

  We built a clever AI filter feature into Loops where content or posts can be labeled as AI, and every member of our community can opt to hide all AI content from feeds (across web + mobile). You can also report untagged AI content, and admins can apply auto AI labelling to local and remote accounts (with optional backfilling).
